I am going to start swapping motors in my Commando, around the end of april pulling the I6 and putting in the 360 . Any thoughts or comments on the swap greatly welcomed .

I have a question concerning the 258ci. I am restoring a engine I picked up at a junk dealer. The build date number is 309c09, can anyone tell me what year this motor and maybe model this came from????

    1) Try to keep the engine level or no more than 2* tilt for a carb engine. Use grade 8 bolts w/the aircraft nylon nut backing.
    2) - I6 radiator outlets match the V8's.
    - It's best to use an I6 heavy-duty radiator (3 core).
    3) The AMC V8 fuel line is on the driver's side while the I6's in passenger side.

Watch ou tusing grade 8 bolts, those are for tensile strength, where a grade 5 is for shear strength. Chose bolt grade by its application and what force is applied to it wether it is shear load or tensile load. Good luck

Thanks guys , As far as tilting the motor i plan to keep as level as possible, but i am going fuel injection on the motor. going with a Holley throtle body, or a complete edelbroch unit if i can get it (if momma lets me anyway) .
