I don't know about the transmission shift pattern but I believe that should be your transfer case shift pattern. Again, that's assuming it still works the same as in stock form.

After readingreading the above post, I just drove up and down the driveway playing with the shifters in every possible combination, and apparently I have owned and driven this jeep for 9 years while having zero comprehension about the shifters and the tasks they perform. What a freaking maroon! Classic Matt move right there:) In my head they were completely opposite. Obviously I never tried to use 4 High:) Thank you gentlemen, for straightening me out and embarrassing me. I sincerely appreciate it.

Yes, I do believe all is right in my jeep world, and all without spending money! Thank you so very much. If you're ever on the left Coast I own you a cold beverage of your choosing(y)

    Matt,
When i got mine (bought at public auction), i had a warble that seemed like a bearing. I changed the oils in the diffs (looked like od green paint and mud mix) as well as engine. Added limited slip additive to rear (power-lock in mine).
    Still warble.

Then i played with levers, was apparently running in 4H, put it in 2wd and all was right in the world.

Glad you got it figured out! No need to feel embarrassed. Shifters can be confusing. (y)

No need in bashing yourself. The shift sequence is different in some jeeps like twin stick vs single stick vs u-shift etc. That's why they have decals, so to remind you of what gear your in.
