When out and decide to take off the doors, any creative storage solutions besides just throwing them in the back?

I remember a CJ5 probably 30 years ago where there was a "rack" for them to be stowed above the front seats up just under the top fabric. It was a pretty slick way to take them along, but out of the way.

I'll have to see if I could rig something up. My problem is in tall at 6'1" so not lots of head room there. I was thinking some sort of rack back by tailgate, inside or outside.

What about making a rack that holds them up against the rear wheel wells? One on each side.

I'm making a rear flip seat using a wagon drivers seat so sides won't work for me. But may look at holder behind seat next to tail gate.

There was a design that let you put the doors on your hood and attached to the hinge. It was talked about on here a year or two ago.

I will see if I can find the reference tomorrow.

My doors and windows separate and I just lay them in the box with towels between them on a piece of carpet. But I don't have a back seat, My TP has fender pads for rear seats.

I have the Bestop Supertop with the 2 piece doors. The upper doors are just the right size to slide in behind the (stock) rear seat. I have a couple of old king size flannel pillow cases to keep them from getting scratched. If I want to take off the lower doors, they'll lay nicely in the back seat.

I understand. I was driving with my brother in our MB through Frasier. Rain. No top and you can only crawl so close to the windshield for an hour. We got to camp and out parents looked at us and laughed. Then there was the trip heading out of Moab in the dark during a downpour...

When I had my first Jeep, a DJ 3, it had no top at all. I remember sitting at a red light in a downpour and everyone around me looking at me like I was nuts.

I believe Duffer has a rear 'rack' or mount for the doors on his 3B.

It only rains when I take my Jeep out without a top.

One year I didn't get my top back on in time and had to shovel the snow out of it.
On the Moab trip, I spent about as much time clearing the water off of the inside of my windshield as the wipers were doing on the front.
Years ago, somebody made some parts so you could mount your doors on the hood of your Jeep. The ads weren't around for long.

As soon as I figure out how to post pictures, I'll show the rack I built on the back to hold my doors.

I thought about putting a manual wiper on the inside while driving in the rain once.

A squeegee works very well. I have three of them in vehicles.
