Have a dana 30 front and a amc 20 rear in a 61 cj5. Found some wide track axles that are the same model and front has disc brakes. How much wider are they and they should bolt up? Have a stock single reservoir master cylinder that needs replaced. Do I need something different for the front disc brakes? Thanks fdpwr2a

An AMC 20 won't fit an early CJ-5 frame whether it's narrow or wide. You can use the wide 20 if you weld on new spring pads, but not otherwise.

I think the 30 will work without changes. If the 30 needs outboard hangers, it won't. Get out your tape and measure the distance between the spring pads.

The narrow track axles are under the jeep and it has been run with them. I am guessing they are that only by going on the front has drum brakes and 76 was the only year for them. The amc 20 has had the spring perches welded on by a shade tree mechanic. They track the same so I'm guess they were swapped in as a set. Thanks for the info

    D-30 Narrow 53" WMS / WMS .......Wide Track D-30 56" WMS / WMS.
    AMC-20 76-81 = 50.5"
    AMC-20 82-86 = 54.5" WMS

Best to use the wide track 30 for the knuckles and disc brakes on a 72-75 narrow track 30. The wide track 20 is simply ballast.
