Clutch linkage

When I bought my cj it was in parts and it looks like I am missing a bunch of the parts what years are compatible with a 1970 (69) cj5 v-6 when I have pulled up if seems to show the 72 and up parts

 

Is it 1970 or 1969?
The clutch linkage is different for those 2 years...linkage and cross tube for 69, cable for 70.

 

Thats what I am trying to figure out there is a broken cable coming off the clutch pedal but serial # says 69 and title says 70 and the vin has been removed from dash

 

take some pics and post em up.

 

Hopefully have clutch in on Sat then will post pics not sure how the best way to take a pic of parts that I don't have

 

You say the vin has been removed ... where are you getting the serial number from? The frame? or the title? or ?

 

we have been through this before . sometimes when a vehicle didn't sell the previous year . it sometimes is titled year it sold . early's didn't have a vin on dash . just a sticker . vin plate is on engine compartment firewall in front of driver . I would think a 69/70 is a cross shaft . with a short cable

I would expect a '70 to have the sheathed cable ala Doug's post above - not the naked cable as in Ron's post.

Post up what you have in terms of VIN and serial number on the frame and/or body and the title.

 

then a 70/71 is the same

 

That looks kinda like my setup

 

My 70 has the cross shaft and exposed cable per Ron's service manual diagram.

the boys 70 had the single cable same as above
