low oil pressure at idle

    It reads almost zero but if I give it gas with it in nuetral it will go up to about 25 is this normal? I have a 4 cylinder flatie in it

    Could be oil pump is going out, or could be gage line/gage. Try pulling gage line off engine and gage, push air through it via air compressor. reattach and see what see does. should get about 25-40 idle, and increase with engine rpms increasing.

    it could be the front cover is worn to far as well..seeing as how it is aluminum and it expands when heated. mine does the same thing when it is warmed up with new hi-vol pump in it

    He has a 4-cylinder with the oil pump on the side of the block, not in the timing cover like the Dauntless V6.

    I had pressure issues too before my rebuild, mainly due to worn bearings. I installed a new (stock) oil pump and it solved my problem until I finally rebuilt the engine. Now I have 40PSI at idle (cold) and it settles down to about 20 PSI at idle when hot. Never goes above about 45 PSI running once it is warmed up.

    I did a oil change w/MMO and changed filter and cleaned out filter housing it seemed to bring it up.
