I know that MD Juan makes all the tubs sold by dealers here, including Omix-Ada. The experience that you describe seems to be universal with people who have purchased the MD Juan/Omix Ada tubs.

Willys Overland says that they buy these tubs and 'fix' them so that they fit correctly in just a few hours. They have a set of jigs that they built to get the mounting tub alignments correct, fenders, tailgate, etc. These tubs are called "RepliTubs' and cost about $3600 plus crating and delivery. They do not have a couple bits - dual tank hold downs, top bow side pockets, and probably other things that I am not aware of. I am considering one because I have stalled on my project at the tub phase. I do not have the skills or patience to undertake a restoration of the tub by myself. And the guy who was going to do the work has not done anything in eight months.

So I am hoping that someone here has some experience with the WO RepliTub product and can tell me how this product worked on their rebuild.

What tub are you looking for? Have you talked to Walck's 4WD about price differences and any comments about the fitment of the current tubs available? I know MD Juan has been working on improving their tubs.

Glenn - This is a tub for my CJ2A. Everything else if basically done - need a tub so I can assemble the rig and get on to my next project - probably a CJ6 pick-up truck.

Make sure you get a new one and not one of the old one-size-fits-all that they sold for years. The price has doubled to match the improved quality. Shouldn't be anything left to fix according to MD Juan now. I would want to inspect one in person before shelling out the kind of cash that they are asking now for one. A couple hundred dollar plane ticket to go see one in person in Atlanta( I think that is where MD Juan sends them at least to Omix-Ada) may be a small amount of insurance.

Also you need to find out if the dash has all of the correct holes already, including for the e-brake. I seriously would check with Walck's first for availability and price.

I had dealings with Jay and WO, I would not recommend buying anything from them.

I don't have experience with the Repli-Tubs for the flat fenders but I did buy a CJ-5 tub from them. It didn't fit right and still required a lot of modification on things like the firewall, windshield hinge mounting holes, and body mount holes. MD Juan supposedly has all that fixed now on the new ones. The quality really was not all the bad but it did require some body work on the sides because they were wavy. Only the experienced eye would be able to tell the difference now that I have it all done.
