Factory side mirror arm questions.

    I bought some factory intermediate side mirror arms from a fellow forum member.

    I had them sent out for sandblast and powdercoating and now I am ready to assemble them. My concerns... Is there supposed to be thin plastic washers at the clamping points of the setup? I tried to show where I mean using Paint. I cant remember if this was supposed to be a metal to metal contact. thoughts?

    I know on my '73, it's just metal to metal contact. I adjust both tensions by adjusting the bolts. This is the way it's been since I've owned it for 36 years.

    thanks for the reply..

    I may get some super thin washers for the heck of it. After thinking about it I really do not want to jack up the Powdercoat.
