1967 CJ5 - summer project

I've been working on the jeep quite a bit, just haven't been updating this. The distributor came and I installed it except for connecting power to it, which shouldn't be too hard.
I'm almost done painting it. It really is true that it's all in the prep work. Painting and priming takes a very small amount of time compared to the time I've spent taking stuff apart, masking off, sanding, and cleaning. I used a self etching primer first, and then a high build primer. The high build primer needs to be sanded and then I'll be able to shoot all the parts with the actual paint, which is Sahara Tan, which was used on some JK's for a few years. I sanded the dash and painted it just to see what it would look like and I'm pretty pleased with how it came out and the color.

The seats are also all back in. The smittybuilt ones fit fine on the driver side bracket, but were too narrow for the passenger side bracket, nothing a little angle iron couldn't fix.

 

The jeep is about done. I drove it the other day around the neighborhood after bleeding and adjusting the brakes again. It drives good, but makes a weird noise when turning right.
