    It caught me by surprise also but it was definitely factory with no bolt holes. Don't know why but would be interesting to know.

    did my dash wiring laying on back , no seats or rails . only had one problem . dawg would jump into jeep and lay on chest , of course had a ball in mouth .:D:D

    I have a 1966 cj5 that has the dash welded. Thought it had been changed but it looks original from the factory.

    nickmil - mine has a welded dash and it has the hardtop you are describing. The door hinge is a piano type hinge that runs the length from the windshield on down a ways. Mine is titled very early on but I think that it is a mistake.
