Installed a over flow tank on my C J 7 but it isn't working properly. I think it is setting down to far from the top of the radiator. Should I get as high as possible? Closer to the top is better?
    Thanks, Don

I'm not sure that height has anything to do with it since it only overflows when pressure exceeds the cap pressure. Mine is part way down the fender, maybe mid-way on the radiator and it seems to work fine.

Have any pics of your setup?

Do you mean it doesn't feed back into the radiator when it cools? Look to see if the tube reaches the bottom of the reservoir, or if it may have a vacuum leak anywhere. Also, I suspect the radiator cap may need to be of the correct type.

I will try a new radiator cap. More than likely the problem.
