Hello Folks! Coming to the end (hopefully) of a two year preservation of a '66 CJ5. It was built in October/November of '66, but is registered as a '68. Year it was sold I suppose? I've had tons of questions during the process but nearly all were answered by searching this forum. It's amazing how much knowledge resides here! It's been lot's of fun and I'm almost sad that it's near the end. Maybe another in the future?[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

    Beautiful JEEP!

Yes, '68 is the year sold. Very common that they would be titled the year they were sold.

You put a lot of work into that great looking Jeep. I remember Kilgore. I lived in Tyler a few years and we would drive to Kilgore to buy our beer as Tyler was dry. Kilgore a very unique town.

Thanks for all the kind words! Tyler went wet recently so maybe "Bloody 31" won't be so bloody in the future......

Nice Jeep. Can you help me with your knobs around the speedo.

What is the red(?) knob top left? Is the knob furthest to the right midway between the ignition switch and the light switch a wiper switch. My '67 has a hole that fits the wiper switch in that location. Most '67 I see have the wiper switch over on the LHS near the hole where the wires go up to the windshield. Also do your wipers park OK. Here is how mine are wired, is this consistent with what you have. There was a discussion on wiper parking a few days ago.

    Thanks. Jon.

    BTW I have a '67 CJ6 V6 225- Stock

The red knob is a switch I added to an existing hole. As of now it's hooked to nothing, but I'll probably use it for some aux lighting. The knob between the light and ignition is a hand throttle cable. The wiper switch is in the normal location you mentioned but is hidden by the steering column in the picture. My wipers are hooked up just like the drawing, and they work fine, but they don't park. Something internal I assume......?

Thanks, now more questions. Can you shoot me a pic of how you hooked up the hand throttle to the carb, I am told the V6's didn't have a hand throttle from the factory, but who knows.. Also how did you run the fuel lines. I have seen pics of over the top of the engine on the LHS but my doner '67 engine has a factory pipe into the fuel pump that runs along the LHS of the oil pan.

Thanks again. We are going to be in Dallas for the Pate Swap meet in April, will you be going?

Sure, I have a couple of pictures of the hand throttle arrangement and i'll be glad to post them. I had to make the bracket but it was dirt simple. My fuel lines run up the LHS as you described and I kept that arrangement as it was simple, direct, and well protected. Not aware of the swap meet, but interested. How can I get more info?

    Thanks!

Oops, just noticed these pics are some I copied elsewhere when I was working on mine. I'll take some of my setup and post later.
