I'm looking for seat frames for a 1969 CJ5. Haven't had much luck anyone know of a source I might try? I currently have a 60/40 bench seat in good condition that I would be willing to trade if interested.

Have you tried the classifieds here? There is a sticky post at the top "where to find parts". Might look in there for possible sources. Afaik they are not reproduced but don't take that as gospel.

I'm not sure how different they are, but the military re-pop places have seat frames for M38A1. Nick's way is much cheaper, but the dealers have them in stock depending on your timeline.

The M38A1 cushions are smaller and flatter. Not bad, but different from civilian.

M38a1 seat frames are different than CJ-5/6.

Might also try Harry Sheets at Midwest Willys. http://www.midwestwillys.com/ He's not the cheapest in the world, but scarce parts can come dear, as we all know.

Shipping seats is the worst part. I got three seats from Harry, and I got lucky. His wife's sister lives less than an hour from me, and they make an annual visit to her. When they came down, he just put my seats in the back of his truck and brought them along, I just had to make a short trip to go fetch 'em. Otherwise, the shipping from him to me would have been atrocious.

I bought a CJ5 rear seat from a member here, and the shipping was terrible. I also bought a tub rotisserie from Posimoto, and the shipping was nearly as much as the rotisserie! And I had that shipped on a Greyhound bus. Shipping is just nasty these days.

That is true but the M38A1 frames bolt right in, I have a pair in my 61 CJ5 - I got them from a junk yard that way I could make my own seat cushions and avoid spending loads on seats

Do you by chance still have your 60/40 seat?

I found salvaged ECJ5 seat frames here in Colorado from http://www.4x4offroadnetwork.com/
They had a couple sets of seat frames just about a year ago when I got mine - maybe they still have some. Not sure where you are located or what shipping options they would have, but they are located in Ft Collins (northern) Colorado. good luck....
