Morning everyone, I'm thinking of swapping my t15/d20 for a t4/d300 behind my 304. Has anyone done this? If so How do you like it? Or, Is it not worth the trouble?
    comments, anyone.

    Thanks
    Walt

Forget it. The T4 is a light-duty transmission, and will not last behind a 304. It will break.

The T-15 is the strongest of the 3-speeds - only the truck 4-speeds are stronger. Quite adequate for V8 power. It was even used with good durability with the 360 in Wagoneers and J-10s.

Why does the T4/D300 combo appeal to you?

Tiimgr speaketh the truth. Not a matter of if, but when. And likely soon unless you are extremely gentle with it.

The appeal, was having the 4 speed and lower geared t-case. I have read the t4 was a weak tranny, and I am pretty easy on the skinny pedal, most of the time. I guess it would be that one time. Guess I'll head on over to the for sale section.

    Thanks for the confirmation
