    Hey kids
Does anyone know how to connect the tubes to the heater switch?
Where do the hoses go to, number 1 to the eng.-? Number 2 goes to the defrost?
I guess. See attached photo. Thanks again like always

Happy to see someone else working on this as well - just about to ask similar question. My apologies if I should have posted a new thread, but a follow-up...

When I push the defrost button, the heat flow seems to come out both the defrost vents with about half the flow and also the passenger side foot vent with the other half. Should that much flow be coming out the lower vent?

Second concern: when I push the air button, don't seem to get any flow out of either passenger or driver side vents or defroster vents - not really sure where the flows goes. I assume the air button should force most of the air out of the foot vents?

I probably need to replace all the rubber vacuum hoses anyway, and clean up all the button switches but just want to know what to look for. Maybe a diaphragm needs replacing - possible?

Finally - what is the other round 'up' vent that is just to the drivers side of the defroster hose? Mine seemed to have some sort of old rotted paper/tape covering it trying to force more air flow out the other vents. With no covering, heat flow definitely comes out and it does a great job of heating the backside of my dashboard and firewall instead of the passenger area. Would this normally be covered/plugged?

    thanks - James

yes one defrost tube isn't used , spray can top works . someone posted it awhile back . vacuum diaphragm should be checked with a hand held vacuum pump . back side of control unit there should be a single spring , that locked the buttons
