Has anyone replaced there clutch cable with a rod or Althread? I was wondering if the stiffer rod would help reduce some of the slack in the clutch

If you are talking the clutch control cable, it's been done before and talked about on the forum.

I'm considering trying it to see if maybe I wont need to adjust it as often as my control cable.

I tried to replace mine with a replacement and it never fit right so I made my own by threading a normal steel rod and putting a yoke on each side that way its adjustable. I was always told allthread isn't very strong

Allthread comes in different grades just like bolts. You just have to find the right shop or check the web.
