    Silly question:

On an early Jeep CJ, should the leaf springs have the same number of leafs from left to right on each axle?

I counted the leafs on the parts Jeep I bought last year.....on the back it has 12 leafs on one side and 9 on the other. I didn't know if that was correct or not. I thought that they may have done that because of the offset differential....

Probably just got a pack from a donor jeep. Unless they were trying to compensate for Jeep lean. Seems like a longer shackle would make more sense.

It does sit level, but I wouldn't thing the leaf count would change that much as the axle sits on top of the spring, unless one of the leaves was soft or broke....
