70/71 Seat photo request

I'm getting my seats redone and want them original looking this go around. Just wanting a few photos of front/back and anything else you may think would be helpful.

Is November when it was built or when it was sold/titled? November is in the 1971 model year.

I hope these pictures help you out. I'm pretty sure these are the originals from my 1970 CJ5. I'm pretty sure they are the same as the CJ6. I want to get mine recovered and I'd love to see pics of your finished product.

That's a T-18.

 

The photos above look like the seats I had in my 71. My center material was a little different.

Yes, but the title is right. The model year started in September in that year. So it's a '71.

But you may already understand that.

There are model-year differences that you can check.

Was really going after the stitching and fabric style. The Jeep is not painted original and I am in no rush to paint it back to stock, I think the PO did it within the last 8 years or so and it lived in a garage and still does, looks more or less great with normal abuse. I am not going to do an exact original theme but wanted the seats in a generally near original style.

 

does anybody make an kit to redo '70 seats with the correct fabric style

 

The original seats in my '71 were the dark pinstriped style, like in the pictures above. Long gone now. Curious about the options for 1970 vs. '71.

 

Pictures above are what was in my 1970-Oct69 built CJ5.
I made a grave error and destroyed the seats down to the frames, bought the wrong covers, used bad foam, a disaster.
I lust after the ones in the photos above.
I do have pictures of the tear down and build up if you are interested.
They are injected foam around a flat/angle iron frame.
There was some one on the web that did a cover, but have not seen them in my searching for years. There are covers out there but not for restoration purposes, only to cover the damage. rugged ridge, bestop.

 

Yea, I'd like to see them. Maybe good reference for others, as well. Also like to see a better shot of hardings rear seat. Mine had a solid piece of fabric across the center where his looks to be split into, sort of, individual seats.

plastic washers on each side of the bottom frame.

flip the frame over on the pad at the side that is next to each other is the fit.

Again, WRONG COVERS FROM BEACHWOOD CANVIS. They said they were correct and were not. I chose to try and make them work rather than send them back. These covers are for the bed spring type seat frames.
The material is very thick and work man ship is top notch. Make sure you get the right ones.
I would buy from them again, but would do more to make sure they were correct.

 

Mine is wrong, and not the way I discussed it with the upholsterer. The photos I have seen of a fancy back seat show the light striped fabric in a solid center section with a small section of the solid colored fabric on each side.

My Jeep is a 69 and my seats had the same fabric as jpc, only it was blue. I like the later fabric better and I think it's more durable. Mine split into spaghetti at the embossing like jpc's did.
