    ford is a inch to short i use chev cast iron housing with jeep adapter which is a inch thick i know may be a another way but i like to do it this way ford has 9" of shaft i need 10

    The Ford T18 maindrive gear is 9.0625 OAL
    Jeep made short ones for T18.
    The shortest was used in 1977 through 1979 CJ's and it measures 10" OAL.
    These short Jeep T18 maindrives have a 1-1/16" spline diameter which is the same diameter as the later Ford T18 spline diameter.

    The short 10" OAL Jeep T18 maindrive gear is Jeep part #8130260 or Borg Warner part #T18-16J.
