Does anyone know where I can purchase a quality oil bath air hose that goes from the Donaldson Oil Bath, to the air horn on my carburetor for my 59 cj5? I think its around 2.5 inch diameter. I bought one from walcks4wd.com which is likely "another fine product from Omix Ada" aka garbage. it literally lasted about 2 weeks before it looked like a very old weather checked tire. and after 3 months now it is cracked through to the inside. So now since it has many many holes in the hose I would like to find a good quality one that wont need replacing for a good while. Does anyone know where I can find a good one? maybe where to find a NOS one? Will this one for a M38a1 fit? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jeep-M38A1-...Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a2b5ed85c&vxp=mtr most places online only sell Omix ada ones or unmarked (which is probably also Omix Ada)

Did you try Debella's Jeep parts? They have lots if NOS parts like that. Might also try Beachwood Canvas. I can't answer the question if the M38a1 is the same or not. I would think so but do not know for sure.

I actually forgot all about debellas. thanks for reminding me. I do see that they have some NOS prices on request so I will have to call them on Monday and see how much. Now I just have to think of a number to say "no thanks" if its like 60 bucks or something. probably if its more than 40 ill just try to find something else like hardware store or local parts store.

If you don't care that it is an exact replacement part, I am sure McMaster-Carr would have a hose type that would work and last. You will have to do a little homework on the material selection but I do believe they have compatibility data on their website.

or go to Pep Boys, OReilly's, or Autozone and get one of the hoses used for the Cold Air Intake systems.

More of an industrial supply house

    http://www.mcmaster.com/#

However, they are in no way adverse to small orders and do accept credit cards. Just an amazing array of materials, tools, and hardware, including just about every kind of fastener made.

Update, I called debellajeepparts asking about their NOS hoses they had listed and they were all out. So I called Surplusjeep.com and they said they could sell me either an Omix Ada brand or a NOS one for the same price (19.99) it was my choice. I told him many times so it would stick in his brain "Please, Please, Please remember to send me a NOS one, I do not want that Omix Ada junk) I then told him I am currently replacing an Omix ada one that did not last long at all before it was torn through. And on both calls to these places when I told them my experience with Omix products, they had both told me that they know how terrible the Omix Ada quality is. and when I told them how quickly my current Omix air cleaner hose ripped they said they were surprised it lasted that long.

Hello, as through reading these treads, did you get the NOS hose after all?....And did you buy that hose, was the quality better than the Omix Ada?......Thanks and sorry for stepping in on this tread as I too have the same problem with the Air horn hose...did not last a year...

Yes I did order the NOS hose from surplusjeep.com and no I have not gotten it yet. I will try and remember to post a picture of the NOS one when I get it. In my mind the 50 year old NOS hose has to be better than the Omix one. like I previously stated within one week after buying my last omix hose I visibly saw it wasn't going to last, and I have heard of others having ripped their omix hose just trying to install it. And my last omix hose I did in fact buy it from walcks4wd.com

Me too. My '57 has the original hose, and it is still in good condition. Why can't anybody equal that quality today with all our technology?

Well my NOS hose just showed up today. When unpacking DO NOT TAKE DEEP BREATHS it smells 50 years old  kinda musty. Original cardboard box marked willys motors is mint condition but unfortunately im not into collecting cardboard so its probably garbage. Rubber hose is shorter than the Omix repops but it fit on like a glove and looks like it was made for it. appears as though I could expect decades out of this hose but only time will tell for sure.

Overall I am very impressed and have very high hopes of longevity of this hose, and my recommendation is BUY NOW. I will likely buy one more on payday just for down the road.
