Nice Jeep! Looks like they were going the Military look...

Can you check under the tire carrier on the passenger side and see if there is any re-enforcement there?
If there isn't you probably you check the jerry can side too.

Body mounting stuff like that where there's no re-enforcement will tear the body up.

    Looks really nice otherwise! Welcome!

    Right hand drive...neat.

Photos of the engine and snorkel pumping and can? Does the drivers seat tumble? The passenger must sit atop the gas tank.

Welcome from Bainbridge Island, WA. Where are you from?

    Thanks for the warm welcome.

68BuickV6, Good catch, you must have seen that happen a time or two. I went out and checked, there are backer plates behind the gas can & the spare tire mount appears to have some kind of body channel thats its bolted in to.

69 Willys, Not sure why its right hand drive but its sure fun to drive. It will take getting use to though, I think the turn signals being activated with the right hand will probably be the biggest learning curve.

Cap-n-Cray, The tool compartment is under the drivers seat and the passenger seat is over the gas tank. Its on hinges also (if thats what you meant by tumble) Oh and Im in Missouri

    Rusty, thank you!

Yes I have seen it before, my Jeep had that problem. The driver side rear panel had a jerry can where your tire carrier is. There was no re-enforcement behind it, just holes in the panel and a plate it was bolted to. It warped the sheet metal and had to be removed and banged straight.

Good lookin Jeep you have there Deputy Vaughn. In the receipt book I got with my Jeep there was a hand written note for paint code FS-595 A or B, OD Semi Gloss, Gilespie 24087 and O'Reilly Auto. Hope that helps ya.

It does. Looks to be the same as what's on my Jeep. Mine needs repainted but I like the color enough to go back with it when I can take it out of service long enough to do the work. My hard top is simple Rustoleum flat black. It could stand some more work too. I've considered cutting it down to a half-cab. Originality was done away with by the PO so I wouldn't be hurting value..... Can't decide on it yet though. I hope to get a lot of things done before the 2013 deer season opens.......After that it's in service for 4 straight months barring mechanical problems.
Again, that's a nice Jeep you've got there.

And then after a while you forget which vehicle you are driving and start reaching for gear shift levers that aren't there.
