I would to know on oem set-up how is the rear drive-shaft. Does the rear output ot the t-case is in strait line with the pignon yoke.
I swapped a rear dana 44 from scout and now the drive-shaft is not strait when i look at the rear.

    I have a t18 with dana 20, front rear dana 44 scout.

On my Jeep Dana 44 there is a slight angle from left to right when looking from the rear...with the "right" being at the pinion and "left" being at the Dana 20 output. This is a stock setup for me. It's definitely not a straight line.

The misalignment is on purpose. If your drive shaft was in a straight line and the u-joints weren’t rolling the needle bearings around they would crush flat and wear a wavy pattern into the bearing cups.

I'M CURIOUS TOO. During my rebuild I gave my engine a motor mount lift (1.25 inches) and got rid of my t case drop (t18b) my motor mounts and moved my tcase output 1.5 inches towards the passenger side to straighten out or should I say align my driveline instead of the slight angle. I haven't put my jeep on the road yet to see what happens but other guys have done this with success.

I've read somewhere, don't remember where that the engine was shifted 1" to the left for driveline clearance. As long as the output of the trans was parallel to the input of the differential vertically and horizontally the u-joints would survive and have minimal vibration.

I’ll bet that if you look very closely you'll find it isn’t aligned perfectly straight but rather parallel with around 1-3* of driveshaft angle.
I’m trying, unsuccessfully, to find a write up on it that describes the theory behind the angles but until I find it here’s one on measuring driveshaft angles in a TJ/LJ.

Is it straight top to bottom though?

Edit: that’s not a stock suspension either, someone has put some money into it. Good looking setup too, nice truss for the axle and adjustable long arm links. Assumable there’s some decent lift there and guessing by the pinion angle up this has a double cardan driveshaft.
