gear oil question

    Im sure they are the same but which 90w oil is needed fo the tranfercase and transmission? gl5 or gl4?

    Much discussion on these forums if you search it.

    80/90 GL4 or lower is preferred, not GL5, because it is safer for bronze and brass parts. Harder to find but can be ordered from NAPA or tractor suppliers

    I got mine at autozone and it took about 6 to 6.5 pts till full.
