I just drove my Jeepster for the first time this weekend with the 5.3 in it. It was a lot of fun till I ripped the teeth off the 44 year old ring gear..... While I was working on it I was second guessing myself about going with the 5.3 over a more efficient 4 or something.... Those thoughts went out the door with the first drive though. I llike the 225, but I like modern fuel injection better.

I like my 225's with both EFI setups I have tried. I will probably stick with the EZ-EFI going forward as it has off the shelf replacement parts if needed.

That is what stopped me from doing a 4.3 (so far anyhow).

Does Eldebtock Pro-Flo 2 35000 on a 381 sbc count? I was concerned it was going to have negative effects on the bottom end (rated someplace around 1000 cfm) but works near perfect.

My Jeep is fuel injected. I like it much better than when it was not injected, but I still have more upgrades to do.

Once my '74 CJ-6 is assembled, it will have an injected 360, Howell TBI - does that count?

'93 TBI 350 in the '6 project. Not running just yet though. I intentionally went TBI for cost, parts availability, reliability, etc. of course I started this project about 13 years ago so back the. Things were a bit different.....

I'm glad to see that there are a few of you that have to tackle a tbi swap. I just purchased a CJ5 for my wife and was thinking of putting in the '91 GM 4.3 tbi that the PO threw in to sweet'n the deal. Last year I finished a GM 5.3, 4L60e swap into my '56 Willys Wagon 4x4 and am VERY happy with the results. I can only hope that the CJ5 4.3 will be equally as exciting. CJ's are new to me so any advise or criticism is welcome. I plan on starting a build thread so all of you can keep me in line. thx

Creeping along. Money and time have been the biggest culprits. My weekends are tied up with coaching my son's baseball team, and Dusty has a million things going on as well. I've accumulated the parts slowly, but surely, so that issue is slowly fixing itself.

The body is at my place while the frame is at Dusty's. He's at a sticking point because the Powermaster alternator (which the catalog said was a direct fit) is hitting the oil filter. This was the only excuse I needed to push me over the edge into getting the serpentine belt conversion from Bulltear, which re-locates the alternator at the same time. I had been debating this for over a year, so I guess it didn't take much to convince me. My problem is that it's a pricey kit at over $400, so I'm waiting until after my Barbary hunt in Feb, cuz I don't know how much that will cost altogether....depending on how many trips down south we have to make. After that, I will order the kit.

Once the engine is tidied up, Dusty's gonna bring it back to the shop for the exhaust, and then off to my house for the body and final assembly. Then after that, I will be looking at a family style cage and then hopefully a lot of driving it to work out the bugs and build some confidence in it. Once that is in place, I'm hoping to drive the hell out of it!
