Alright guys I need some help with my clutch. First off I'm doing a full swap, rebuild, restore, but I had the clutch working running in August so this has me really confused. 73 frame 81 258 with a Dana 300 T176 Tran. I pulled the motor and Tran and swapped them onto my restored frame in August. Everything was running and working when I parked it. I did do a gasket and front main shaft bearing restore on the transmission but I NEVER touched the clutch. So I went and put everything back together last weekend but the clutch wont disengage. The linkage. Is correct the fork and throw out bearning are in place the friction plate is installed correctly. But when I push down on the pedal nothing. I tried yesterday to start in gear to get it to free up.... nothing.. so now I guess I pull the engine AGAIN but before I do that I was hoping you guys could chime in. Any ideas would be great.

If you had taken the disc out, I'd say you put it back in backwards. Happened to me a couple weeks ago.

might be possible the disc is stuck to the flywheel
try putting the Jeep up against a solid object, tree trunk, etc
push the clutch in, leave the transmission in gear, and bump the starter
you're not banging into the object, just bumping up against the object
don't bend the front bumper in the process

Disk never came out so I'm pretty sure that's not it. Unfortunately the body work isn't done yet so I have no radiator so I have no way besides slapping the starter with the battery. Tried that worked her back 10 feet but still not working. I'm lost. On the plus side I'm getting pretty fast at pulling the motor. Maybe its a sign I should just throw a new clutch kit in. :dead horse:

    success
based on your description, it really couldn't have been any thing else.
and the fix goes against normal automotive rationale....
    (if there is a normal)

This is typical Jeep mechanics, what ever works.
