the thing on your left in the first picture is your clutch fork, and on the right is your throw out bearing.

You should be able to install your engine without bell housing. The clutch fork and throw out bearing are going to be attached to your bell housing.

Ps it would help if I knew what trans, engine, I think your installing a 4cyl in your jeep but I don't remember.

if its going in the last picture? I would drop the trans and pull the floor cover. If you do a search on here you should be able to find the diagram, otherwise I will try and see if my factory service manual has a picture to this.

Thanks for the pictures! I got caught up with two of my friends who came over and we just sat around and look at the jeep so it didnt get finished, hope to finish it up tomorrow, if my enigne lift cooperates, the cylinder isnt holding pressure so i have to constantly pump it to keep the engine up in the air.

It is usually a good idea to put in a fresh throw-out bearing, and maybe a clutch plate, while you have it open. Cheap insurance.

I might, if i'm not too impatient to get it running i'll probably replace it, then i have to wait a few days for the part and postpone till next weekend, how hard are they to replace once i put the engine back in the jeep?

Gotta pull the engine again. That's why we rarely put back used ones.

Tough decision, i think i'll use it as is and this summer when i re-paint the whole jeep pull the engine and trans to paint them and do it then.

It's a wee bit easier to do all this with the large bell/tranny floor access panel removed. It's a wee bit easier to install the bell housing, fork, throwout bearing and SPRING (I did not see the spring in your first photo!) on the front of the tranny first. Also the ball stud the fork mounts on is bolted to the tranny front face not the bell housing. Then slip the engine with the pressure plate and clutch disc and flywheel down in there and bolt the bell housing to the engine. You said new engine going in. That sure looks like an old new engine. Unless you know for sure that clutch disc is good you may be sorry when you try to start her up and move her around. At least get that bell housing off the engine and on the tranny then take a real close look at the clutch and the pilot bearing in the center of the flywheel. Make sure that disc is not stuck to the flywheel or pressure plate before you install the engine. Try to get your hands on a copy of the Kaiser service manual SM-1046 or at least a funky Chilton manual.
