I thought you were at 20. Sorry. It may still be the issue. Normal time for the OF is 0-5. I would set to zero and see what you got and work back from there.

This is a 225? Do you happen to have a 231/350 front cover? You can tell by the timing numbers. If they are molded into the cover, it's a 225. If they are bolted on, it's a 231/350 and the marks are off by @ 18*.

The timing marks are molded in the cover. The venturi cluster is clean. It shoots 2 nice streams when you give it throttle. This is the most frustrating thing, mechanically, I have ever experienced.

Do you have factory service manual #SM-1046? If you do, look at sections E-25 thru E-31. It explains the theory of operation for the Rochester 2G, which you have if your dauntless is stock. If you don't have the manual you can get it on Amazon, just search "Jeep SM-1046" or look on google shopping. It is still being published by aftermarket publishers.

You are going to have to go through the manual and make sure you have every thing to spec. That's what I would be doing when I feel like pulling my hair out. I don't have much hair left, so I have to read the service manual.

thanks for the info. I have took the Carb back apart ..5th time.. and soaking it in cleaner until friday. I really think it is the Carb. I have had the valve covers off and ran thru the timing and all valves and springs are functioning and all the spark plugs are firing..they all looked as to be burning the same. I have done everything you can do to the dizzy and timing besides replacing the dizzy and nothing changed. The carb was cleaned the first time i rebuilt it. but it was very dirty inside and apparently there may still be debris breaking lose and causing problems. I do have access to some more roch 2g's but they are different part# then mine (7041185 is mine) Can I use them and just change jets and set float to my cj5 specs?

Depends on what the 2g was from. There were applications used in our V-6's, I-6's, and V-8's and not all were compatible.
Please don't call a distributor a dizzy. That is something that happens when one becomes disoriented, usually from one being spun around or due to phobias.
