Greetings Commando gurus. As my restoration progresses on my 1967 Commando half cab I am wondering whether I should put hub caps on it or not? I am trying to keep my Commando completely stock and original, but I have no idea of it ever had hub caps on it. Is there any way to tell based on the trim code whether it originally had hub caps, and if so which ones? It has the original white rims and the bumpers are also white. I'm thinking since the bumpers were not chromed, it was a no frills model and may not have had hub caps but I don't know how to tell for sure. Or am I just being way too anal about this?

Not sure about Pennsylvania but up her it's illegal to drive around town with your lugnutz exposed :shock:R).
Really no way to tell exactly unless you have the original window sticker or sales order to see what trim package it had but I believe at a minimum they would have had the dog dish style cover. My 70 which is a bare minimum as far as options for a vert is Trim Package A. It came with the full standard wheel covers.

Unless you have the build sheet-window sticker, then your just guessing, ours has the white bumpers but we have the 2 piece dog dish/finger biters. So you could go without, dog dish, dog dish with trim rings or 2(?) styles of full cap. There are many other areas to be anal about..:p Interior, engine area, top....We picked our out at the factory but that doesn't mean thats the way it was to be built. I'd say go with what was available during the year and what you like.

Thanks for the response. I've seen lots of pictures of the white bumpered trucks with dog dish hub caps. I'll probably just go with that. It's a nice retro look too! Thanks!

Colli, Zack Heisey of Z&M Jeep Parts usually has a big booth at the PA Jeeps show (July 21/22, York Fairgrounds). He's not cheap but has high quality OEM stuff... I'm sure you can find some correct caps from Zack (or others) at the show.

BTW, welcome, from York-New Salem !! :tea:
