    I had a Weber carb given to me to put on my '74 CJ5 with the 258, to get rid of the old bbd. The carb came on the intake of a jeep 258 intake, so I know it was on that before.
    On the base of the carb it says 34 DGEC, but someone changed the electric choke to manual, which I like better anyway.

    BUT.. the problem is, I have nooo idea anything about this carb, and can not find any online info. I have rebuilt it (or I should say almost done rebuilding it)
    but,
    ~~~I can not find any info on the float adjustment. Someone also said the spring under the float has to go through the hole in the float. is this true?
    ~~~on the jets that screw in the side... mine look reallllllyyy weird. They are cone shaped at the end, but they seem to be adjustable. As in, when you screw them in, there is a nut thatt goes over them and tightens down to keep them locked where you put them. CAN ANYONE PLEASE EXPLAIN this to me!? cant find any info on them, or where I should put them. (all the way in? half turn out?)

    Any information on this carb or my questions would be greatttllyy appreciated!

    thanksss!!!

    It was considered a performance replacement for the carter YF, by some. Google search will provide many links to discussions on it, kits with schematics are on eBay.

    Tried Weber, directly?

    You might try Redline - http://www.redlineweber.com/ They have some technical info on their site.

    I don't see a 34 DGEC on the Redline site, but I googled "Weber 34 DGEC" and "Weber Carburetor Designations" and got a ton of hits. I don't understand why you think there is a shortage of information.

    The designation 34 DGEC means that it has 34 mm venturis, dual throat (doppio corpo), and maybe progressive (G), die cast (E)... final C, don't know. Maybe the choke designation (EC electric choke?). Weber designations are "chaotic" according to internet sources.

    Just follow the leads on Google and I'm sure you'll find plenty of resources.

    Did you get the rebuild kit for the Weber 34 DGEC carburetor? The directions in that should give you the float level setting.

    No I didnt get a rebuild kit for it, the gaskets and pumps were all in good condition so I was just cleaning the jets.

    When its running the throttle response is great! but I am having a hard time getting it to stay running. I had it running very well, idling, and then it died when I was moving it around the yard, and now all it does is start and run for a minute or two, die, and then wont start for a few minutes, no matter what I try.
