1962 CJ5 headlights don't work...

    :dead horse: turn signals barely work as well and headlights just don't work. your help will be much appreciated! thanks :beer:

    2x. Run ground jumpers for a quick check. If the turn signals sort of work, that is a good indication of a ground problem.

    If it isn't a ground problem, you need to trace the power back from the ignition switch, light switch and breaker (on the switch), dimmer switch, and lights. Not sure it makes a lot of difference which direction you go. An indicator light will probably get the job done, but a volt/ohm/multimeter is the tool you want.

    dimmer switch is a common culprit. especially with the terminals underneath the body and exposed to the elements.

    Like Duffer says. Sounds like weak supply voltage due to high resistance. Check for bad connections at feed from battery, via starter solenoid, headlight switch junction, etc.

    Mine was the headlight switch. Get a test light and make sure you have power at both terminals of the breaker on the. Ack of the switch. If you do, check for power at the terminals of the switch in different positions. Mine just needed to get taken apart and the contacts cleaned with some scotch brite.
