So, I decided to build some summer half doors for Saffron. Got some 3/4" plywood with that MDO finish on both sides and commenced.
Here's what I ended up with, no paint yet and I'm thinking of using 3/4" piano hinge for the hinges but haven't decided if I'll fab some latches, or try to find something that will suit my fancy. These first 2 pics are misleading as there is a 90* angle from the vertical hinged side to the top as seen in the last pic.

They will fit better when installed as they were just sitting there on their own.
Ya'll tell me what ya think and by all means, hold nothing back! :D

think the gap on toward the support by the windshield might be too tight. Might try and use bottom hinge like on soft top and fab upper hinge.

I like them, good curves and will be interested in how you plan on doing latch mechanism.

    I like it!

I would definitely give them some black paint, maybe some sort of pocket on the inside for storage.
I also suggest hinges like these, so you can remove doors easily, my CJ came with these vinyl half doors, with (what I call) rotating handles.

Sorry for the poor angle, one car garage full of crap! I'll get you a pic of the latch mechanism on these tomorrow. I think it'd be perfect for your doors.

Thank you, I'll definitely take these things into consideration and yes, please post pics of rotating handles!
Black paint is a "fershure". I just finished cutting and shaping tonight.

I used soft half door frames and covered them in Aluminum, they use a inside and outside handle setup ......the inside closes against the tub . I'll try to get pics later

Better view of hinges, very similar to bkd's.

Inside view of hinges and mount.

Handles, ignore the tape, they need to be plasti dipped.

    Mounting plate, without handle.

Handle itself, I always thought these were homecooked, looking at the square hole on them...

    Flip side.

Lemme know if you need anything else, measurements, pics, whatever. :stout:
