Ford v8 engine bay pics and info

Discussion in 'Flat Fender Tech' started by silverbullet72tnt, Feb 27, 2012.

  1. Looking for some pictures of the engine bays with a small block ford in them. I am currently swapping one in and I would like to see some pics.

Also, could you post whether or not you had to mod your firewall, install a body lift etc.

    Thanks

No firewall mods, no body lifts but I did add 2" between the fenders and tub(I'm running an auto). It's best to run either a early Bronco or other rear sump oilpan.

  3. did you add length to the hood as well?

Nope, it's hard to see but I used a piece of 1 1/4" angle iron to move the hood forward slightly. The hood fit great with no mods and the gap at the rear lets a lot of heat out. Here are a few pics.

I'm guessing the AC compressor is for on-board air

Yep, the compressor is for the suspension among other things.
