    Nice work!

I'm reassembling my motor after reconditioning and it will be a similar blue. (Ford corporate blue because it's one of the Ford-engined Combat 6 jeeps assembled in Australia.

Love to see your engine in the jeep. : )

Nice!!! But I always think something is amiss when I see non-black f heads???? That said, it could be a lot worse-ford blue on a chevy or chevy orange on a ford.;)

Thanks a bunch guys.........I was in the mood for something different than black.

In the last few days I went thru the t case and tranny, and put a new hardened intermediate shaft, bearings and such in the t case. the old one was really wore, you could see where the bearings wore into the shaft. So on that note how much quieter is my t case going to be?

Your rebuilt case will still whine but should not growl.

OK, One last question, while it's all tore down and I know this is :dead horse: But I was looking at my exhaust, Do you guys think I would get any improvement if I increased the size up to like 2" or so? would it be worth the cost or just run what I have?

I tend to prefer a small diameter. I ran 2" on the V6 IIRC.
On the Fhead I'd run the stock size.
I believe these engines are happiest with a bit of back pressure, and I also like to maintain enough pressure in the exhaust pipe to allow the engine to run with the exhaust underwater, as happens occasionally in stream crossings. I've seen too many well built, powerful V8 Jeeps die in mid-stream because their cool, big exhaust pipes couldn't keep the water out...

Well she is in, I got it up and running today. it's just purring like a cat! I have a couple small leaks to attend to, front output and around the fuel pump.... And get it timed in a little better. I don't see any significant power gains, but it is much smoother and just all around runs nicer. and carries great oil pressure now.... What amazes me the most is the new intermediate shaft and bearings in the T case. It is sooooo much quieter. I can actually hear the engine and exhaust when i'm going over 30. I also rebuilt the clutch linkage. I got rid of the old rod and original clutch pivot tube and replaced it with one from ebay. I also got rid of the old rod and replaced it with a rod with clevis at both ends. It works really smooth now. And I stuck with the orignal style exhaust with a thrush turbo muffler.

I was a little nervous on start up. I had helped my dad rebuild a few motors when I was young. But this was my first on my own. But it's very gratifying to drive it down the road thinking yeah I made it run better.

Thanks for the comments and help with my rebuild.

My problem would be not wanting to drive it. Just sit next to it with a beer and stare.

Very nice. If mine would have looked like that (or if the parts had not been fused together) I would have kept it! Paint always makes you feel like you are getting to the end, keep up the good work, looks great!
