Hey guys, i asked this in the last thread but it was towards the end kinda after the fact, so i wanted to make it its own thread in hopes of getting more answers. I hope this doesn't displease the mods to much.

I have replaced my carb with a quadrajet, it came off of a chevy 350. the jets i pulled out look like they read 71, and the rods are 50M. i was curious of anyone else here running a quadrajet to what rod and jet setups you were using? im running a 304 with headers and flowmasters and HEI @3500ft. if you have a somewhat similar setup what rods and jets are you running?

i really dont want to buy a whole kit for trial and error as its $150 bucks, im hoping someone here has something that is close to my set up where i can get close and buy one or two sets and be done.

    any input is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks guys!

I would see if I could find a Qjet off of something with a 305. If you dont want to buy one outright, pop one open and see what metering its running.

304 isn't that much smaller. How's it running now? If it was set up properly for a 350 at roughly the same altitude you're at, it shouldn't be real far off.
First and foremost, like I said, how is it running now? You should be close enough for a good baseline..

I agree. I ran one on my V-6 for years. Great carb. It did run rich, for a V-6.

its running alright, just seems a little to rich to me, its a little boggy and i was smelling gas at times. pulled the plugs and they are a bit wet.

no one has a qjet on here? :( im thinking about reducing my jet to 70, keeping the same 50 rods. this will lean out my cruise/idle by about 6% and my WOT by about 4%.

no not yet, i have the carb torn apart right now. if i don't find any good info on a what setup people are running on their 304's i may just put these jets and rods back in and tweak rod height, float height etc.

but i was really hoping someone already had a qjet on their 304 and could tell me what they are running for jets and rods so i can have confidence if im close or not
