    Make sure you take off the 4 nuts that hold the plate that hold the axles in otherwise they won't come out. Just like a ford axle.

    Hmmm, all bolts removed, black plate and retainer plate loose,,,,still won't budge. Well, it moves in and out maybe 1/16 but nothing beyond that. maybe need to get that diff cover off,,,still.

    44 flangers don't have a C-Clip at the pumpkin end to keep them in, do they?

    Its should pop out without to much trouble using the drum method. pictures help.

    Thanks all. Axles were tight!! Had to buy a Harbor Frieght Slide Puller. Worked perfect. Question: How is the outer bearing retaining ring removed? I have my axles out and this ring has to come off to replace the outer bearing and seal.
