I am looking for a replacement crankshaft pulley for an 81 304. I have an amc part number (3227671) and I wondered if anyone knows of a crossover number or a supplier for this part.

If you need the harmonic balancer (behind the actual pulley), they can be rebuilt. Otherwise the pulley was used for all models of AMC V8 in 80-81 and likely later. Earlier pulleys may work, but the number you gave starts in 1980. I believe the main features are 3-bolt or 4-bolt, and how many belt grooves. A stamped steel OEM style pulley will be a used part only, unless you can find some (very scarce) NOS dealer stock. Try the WTB forums on the Wagoneer sites, like 2www.ifsja.org - they seem to have a lot of parts cars. If you are willing to pay a premium price, J&W in Antelope CA likely has one. Or you can try the AMC junkyards.

Another source would be a billet pulley from BullTear http://www.bulltear.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=115&osCsid=t1rtrdgdi1ivmopi425j7hkrt6 - but this is a comparatively high-dollar item, made to order.
