Used Sparton's turn up quite frequently on ebay $9-$20 depending on condition. There are only three pieces involved in the cancelling part of the switch assy. The rubber wheel, the V shaped bracket that also has the arm mount, and the pressure spring. Two points where lube can be applied are shafts that the bracket slides against and the wheel spins on. Usually the Sparton is not mounted high enough on the column for the rubber wheel to make solid contact with the bottom of the steering wheel to rotate the switch back to neutral. If the upper steering shaft bearing/bushing is worn, it will allow changing pressure for the neutral wheel. Not much to really wear out on these units.

Could also put an ad in the classifieds here. Someone may have a good used one lying around.

I couldn't find a good Sparton when I rebuilt mine, so I bought a Signal-stat from Napa. They are used on big trucks, such as dump trucks and tractor trailers. They are not cheap ($70, IIRC) but very high quality, even higher quality than the Sparton. I bought the 901, but there are several models to choose, some with canceling wheels, some with different signal logic, etc, just have to look through the big book 'o parts.

My self-canceller is my left fore-finger.

X2, I hate the self canceling, always gets in the way. Just wired the signal flashing lights on the speedo so I see them if I forget.
