We got a 1967 CJ5 Friday. Walt and I got it running after a couple hours. I thought these engines had solid push rods but this one has hollow rods. Which ones should it have?

Looks like someone put 231 heads on a 225 block. That is definitely 231 valve train. The 225 used solid pushrods and the rockers were oiled through the rocker shafts. The 231 oiled through the pushrods.

    Nick,
Those heads look like the valve cover bolt holes are even top and bottom. If I remember right the 231 heads have those bolt holes offset?

Also on these heads, the valve covers are 225. Don't have the 231 raised rib down the center of the covers.

The 1st few years of 231 production shared the same valve cover bolt pattern, then when they were offset it was only like 1/4", which is why a lot of aftermarker vavle covers had slots in the top vavle cover bolt holes.

This. I just measure a loose 231 aftermarket vc I have and it's about 1/16" different from top set of holes to bottom.
