Is it safe to run the skinny 1.75" wide springs on a 2.5" wide spring pad? I'm guessing if its ok I would need to run the 2.5" spring plates?

    nickmil In mothballs.

The problem with that is when you torque the u-bolt nuts it will bow the ubolt plate. The flexing driving down the road can stretch the u bolts, overstress the mounting plate, and cause the ubolts to deform the axle housing. You really should match the spring pad width to the spring width to be safe.

Thanks nickmil, Thats what I thought. Guess it was wishful thinking to just use my stock springs.

Check out the wanted section of the CJ2A forum. I am sure there are a lot of them around to be had cheap.
