Here's a couple of pics of the Summit heater install in the Daughter's '70. The valve on the firewall is a coolant control valve from a Nissan something or other. I had it laying around so used it. I made a bracket for mounting and for the cable. I mounted it to an existing hole on the cowl. I used a choke cable and an existing hole in the dash for mounting. I used another existing hole in the dash for the fan switch. No pics of that yet. Through the firewall I drilled two holes, installed grommets, then used copper pipe with fittings so the heater hose doesn't go through the firewall. Makes a convenient connection point and works pretty well so far. Under the battery box there are rubber insulated clamps to hold the hoses in place.

Looks good! Have you ever seen one of those heaters in action Nick?

The copper "U" above the intake manifold is because I can't get the heater hose fitting out of the intake and it faces the wrong direction. A temporary solution to get it hooked up. I still have the defroster to adapt/hook up, a little more wiring to do, and decide if I'm putting the vents in or not.

I haven't but everyone says they love 'em. Haven't heard anything bad yet on them so I figured I'd give it a try. I've got another for the CJ-6 project too.

    Nick,
I know about getting those heater hose fittings removed from the intake manifold.
I broke the hex bushing trying to get that off on my '69. I resorted to heating the remains of the bushing to red heat, then using an easy out on it the next day. It came out easy then.

Yeah, that was going to be the next step. This was easier for the short term though:)
I've got a better tub we're going to put on eventually. I figured once everything was out of the way I'd fix it then.
