258 block heater

    I need to put in a block heater in my sons cj7 258 the heater i bought needs to be piped in to a coolant drain on the block is there any thing other than the freeze plugs and if so where is it located?

    Don't they make one that sticks onto the outside of the oil pan to keep the oil warm? that might be easy

    No pipe plug at the bottom of the block? I thought there was one there. I'm not going to shovel out the J10 to look though ...

    If the drain plug design is too difficult, there are several types of heaters. These include in the hoses, in the dipstick, on the outside of the pan, in a core plug, maybe others...

    problem is bought this on ebay so i'm stuck with this model and i can adapt it to the lower radiator hose if i have to

    Should be one down near the bottom of the block below the frost plugs. it'll be either 1/4" internal square drive pipe plug or an internal hex although I think the hex is later. I'd go check my Commando or my Eagle but for the same reason as timgr, snow covered hoods :D.

    Don't know if you found it yet but it's just below the frost plug, rear of engine. This is on an 81, yours will be similar.
