Did a quick search and did not find a definitive answer so: Are the axle/hub bearings on a 416 indeed the same as the Dana 27 parts and thus, the Bantam trailer bearings and races? Second, anything odd or special tools needed ( other than the normal tools needed for a 27 ) to do a quick bearing inspection and repacking on the 416? I'm planning on towing one home for several hundred miles at highway speeds. Sorta want to be prepared for unexpected delays.

Dave Looked the same to me when I repacked mine, same brake parts as well as far as I could tell.

Well, the bearing retaining nuts and washers are the same. Haven't checked the bearing # or spindles but I suspect everything will prove to be the same.

    Dave,

We towed this trailer all the way from Jacksonville, NC to Roanoke with no problems. Good to think ahead though. Thought you might want to know how far it's traveled without incidence though.

Beth, I was just wondering for replacements if I need them. Packed the bearings before leaving Nick's on Sunday and pulled it home with no problems.
