    Yep, GM engine with a used adapter is your cheapest route. You may have to wait and search a little for a used adapter, but they are out there.

    Look at the Novak adapter - http://www.novak-adapt.com/catalog/kits_cx.htm - you basically need the adapter plate, the input shaft and the bearing retainer.

    now i was reading on novak and it was saying something about changing the 1st and 2nd gear ratios.. what this about?
    and it said it would add about 90 dollars to the cost which isnt really a big deal

    Could be. Counting teeth is the sure way to tell.

    The adapter kit uses the long shaft from a Utility truck/wagon (the T-90J transmission) to provide enough stick-out for the deeper GM bell. The F134 bell is quite shallow. The T-90J only came in one set of gear ratios (the same as the T-90A), so if you have a T-90C, you have to convert it to the ratios that match the T-90J input.
