I don't have any pics right now do to computer problems but I will try to post some for you. I had a warn black diamond 3" lift with stock shackle in the rear, shackle reversal in front with 2"lift shackles. I also ran reverse center 21/4 offset rims so I could have full tire tuck in the rear with no rubbing on the inside of the wheel well. I did have to trim the rear of my wheel well about 1". This was on a 71 Cj-5.

Mine is spring over with 2.5" wide, 7-leaf springs, from JCWhitney. Shackles are stock length from one of the aftermarket companies. I mounted the rear springs in a way that moved the rear axle about 3-4 inches rearward from stock location. I realized later that moving the axle created more problems: differential possibly hitting the gas tank during flex, needing a bigger cut on rear fenders, etc. I moved the axle to stock location but the 36's I have on there rubs on the rear portion of the rear fender. In retrospect, I should've moved the rear springs forward...to accomodate the rearward movement of the axle during flex. some trimming will be neccessary since the rear fenderwells are only 32" or so diameter.

I would like to see some pics of both your rides (Rojo and Double R) I am in a debate on whether to go with 33 or 35s. I have a friend that will let me use his wheels off his ford to see how the 35's will fit. I will have tube fenders up front and have no problem cutting the rear to make them fit! right now I have 3" black diamond leafs now, but I don't know if i should do a spring over or just add shackles to get my clearance. That's why I need some pics! thanks guys.

I have the Black Diamond 3" lift on my A1. I was running 35 12.5 BFG's on 15x10 Eaton's with 3 1/2" bs. They stuffed and rubbed on the outside of the front fenders and the rear of the rear fenders. I ditched them and went with the 33 10.5 BFGs. I am super pleased with how the jeep drives now. The smaller tires put the power in a better range for running around in top gear. Maybe you have more than 72 hp? It lugged at 20-25 around the neighborhood with the 35's and I had to cruise 2nd. With the new 3 3/4 bs 8" rims I have no worries.

For 35's I think you would need 4" lift, tube front fenders and some trimming in the rear to get zero rubbing. YMMV. Bottom photo the 33's.

I run 33 12.50's on my 5 with 1.50 spacer with no rubbing. if I was to do it over I would go 33 10.50 BFG or 34 9.50 swamper.

Swampers also come in a 34 10.5 LTB bias which I considered but I just wasn't sure they would be short enough due to manufacturers stated versus actual height. The LTBs look awesome with even more aggressive lugs than the regular TSLs. I had another board member measure his loaded and they were 1" shorter than my 35" BFG's, but I decided it was too expensive a gamble! But either tire seems to be a great choice but the radial construction swayed me in the end since the jeep is so light.

Sorry to hijack your height thread with tire construction....

It is an AR-10. I have a couple of other old surplus guns that I swap in/out of either jeep.

Thanks for the compliments! Here is a pic of the rifle rack install. Sorry to keep hijacking thread...

stock height with 33's with room to spare so I figure if I add a 2 inch lift I could squeeze 35's
