I am in the middle of a restore and starting on the engine pretty soon but, the previous owner switched the generator to an alternator. he hacked up the mounting brackets and I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to show some pictures of what it is supposed to look like.

These might give you some idea. I can get others if needed. Tubs still off.

    Covered with grease and dirt.

Clean but missing arm from first pic.

With generator attached. There should also be a C-shaped |___| bracket bolted to the block thats not shown above but can almost make it out below and partial in first pic.

Edit: I posted assuming F-head. Sorry if not.

Thanks for the pics and yes it is an F-Head. Anyone have pictures of the "c" bracket? How is this bracket mounted is there screw holes in the block?.

Some shots I have. The blue engine is my '56. Note the rubber bushings. Walck's probably has everything you need, if not him, try DeBella's.

Does any one know if a pulley from an M38A1 would work on a CJ-5 generator?

    Howdy 4XFool,
Where did you get the 90 degree fitting that’s on the top left of your water pump?
    Thanks
