Don't forget to extend the vent on your transfer case. Dr. Vern has a good way to do it. If you don't, all that water will make a mess of the gears and bearings.

Got some more work done today.... feeling lazy though and decided it's beer thirty :)

Check the new cargo rack... not quite done with it though. Loving the way it turned out though. You can also see where the extended exhaust will be coming out. A brace from the rack will support the exhaust. No new holes will be cut for the rack install... the whole thing is going to clamp itself to the inner lip of the tub. Booya.

Also got the snorkel mocked up. No, the spray can lid is not permanent. Just need to find a good top for it.

More of the snorkel and my fancy new rear-view mirror. Exhaust is just mocked up to see the height.... actual exhaust is much smaller.

Broke down and got some turn signals :( .... plus you can see where the snorkel routes under the dash. It mounts in the factory data plate holes and the data plate mounts right on top in its factory location.

Got a bit more work done and took the Jeep out for a cruise. Things ran great initially but didn't do so well once I shut it off a couple times and tried to restart it and take it back out. I need to take another look at the mixture and change the thermostat for this thing to work well in 100 degree weather ;)

Check out the transfer case shifters made from custom aluminum 20mm rounds. Booya...

At 8000 feet on a hot day (up behind Creede), my L-head would get vapor lock on a long climb. My L-head seemed to be more susceptible to vapor lock than the F-head, maybe because the carb is on the same side as the exhaust manifold. I put an electric booster pump in to pressurize the fuel line. I control it from a switch on the dash and only turn it on when needed. Also insulated the fuel line near the exhaust manifold. Got rid of the vapor lock.

Thanks for bringing that up... I forget that I'm at altitude sometimes...

I guess 98F temps, 6000ft elevation, and direct sunlight might contribute to vapor lock issues... I'll do some insulating tomorrow...:tea:
