CB radio relocation

I need more room under the dash for a heat duct/ vent, so I decided to relocate the CB to over head. I used 1/16" aluminum plate, and sanded it to give it a brushed look. It's attached with 10 zip ties (good ones, not the Harbor Freight or FLAPS cheapies) and the 3M gray adhesive tape. Not sure it really needs the zip ties as that 3M tape is really tenacious.
I made enough room to put another dome light and I'd like to make a place to store my shades so they don't have to live on the seat anymore.
This ended up being an all day (almost) job...

Your CB looks good up there. Does the mic cord block the view of your mirror?

I don't know yet; I haven't driven it. I might make a clip of sorts to clip it up out of the way

Looks great, although I would replace the plastic zip ties with stainless ones.

Here is an idea for the cord, you might see in big rigs some times. The Key wind up cords, pull keys out and winds up like a tape measure, it will hold wires tight unless you pull down and wind back up when in mic is at home.

Those look a lot like CV boot clamps, and I thought about using those. The plastic ties won't scratch the paint, and I'm sure they'll last for many years. If thet start to crack or break, I've got probably 1500 more of them..;)

Sure, but you can't but a nice shiny polished finish the plastic ones. I guess you'll just have to pull that old roll bar out and have it chromed or replaced by a stainless cage. :D

Only one person I wheel with uses a CB, the rest of us use old marine band radios that are compatible with some of the hand helds.
I still have a CB in the camper, somewhere.
