Hey folks!! I haven't been on here since I sold my jeep last fall. Kinda put me out of the mood thinking of someone else owning her, but oh well. I have a line on a decent ol' 76 with 90k on it, new top, all original, inline 6, 3sp, no lockers, just all stock and such. Almost no rust. Think it's worth $1500? I hope I did the pics right.....

Don't know what they go for in your neck of the woods but in my area that's a $2200-$3500 Jeep.
I'd still try and talk 'em down some though:)

That would be about right here. I would definatly consider it if I was looking.

I'm in Missouri. I haven't heard it run yet because he said the ignition module went out in the fancy-shnancy i6 distributor I've heard about. Oh ya...still has the factory back seat and all seat belts, factory (not touched) roll bar, and power steering. There isn't much info on this forum that I have found about this year of jeep. What tranny and transfer does it have, gearing ect?

Being a '76 it will have a model 20 transfer case and if 3 speed a T-150 which is basically a RAN Ford Toploader 3 speed. If a 4 speed it would be a T-18 truck style which is generally the preferred tranny but not near as common. Can't answer what was stock in that year for axle gearing as I don't remember but maybe Timgr or Jpflat2a or someone will chime in with more info on that.

My '76 had 3.55:1 gears if that helps any.

Thanks for the info guys. So ya'll think it for sure wont have the really low gears that my ol' 4 banger 65 had then? Also, is the model 20 tcase quieter than the 18 one? Will a rig like this go 70 with any trouble? It is also a 3 speed.

Unless the gears have been changed out they won't be real low, you may get lucky and have 3.73s.
70mph is still pushing it in a swb Jeep.

I have no idea about how jeeps handle at higher speeds cause my old 65 was doing good to hit 50. :) It would mostly be a daily driver on a road with a 60mph limit. Maybe get a set of 31-10.5's and no lift.

The power should be there in the '76 to run 65-70. Never had mine that fast.
