ojgrsoi that six is way cool I wouldnt mind building one someday!! What is the wheelbase on those?

Also try an 18mm deep socket I think or one thats just barely doesnt fit the lugs outterwall, than pound that sucker on with a hammer and remove the lug thats what id do

yep I used my impact sockets and found one that fit tight and tapped it on with a hammer, worked like a charm

Where is the t-case shifter? Is it that short one on the passenger side way forward? Doesn't look like it will move very far.

That "short one" is the transfer case shifter. it's in 2 hi in the pic. It pulls back and kind of up through the floor. That's a factory D18 single stick shifter.

I drove it out of the driveway today and put the top on it. It's got 3 miles on the speedometer. Thought I would play with my wife's camera

project inherited from my dad to try and get me into the same hobbies as him. its my first time trying to build anything up, and its been fun so far, my lack of knowledge makes everything a learning process, its fun as ****! its a 56' cj6, with an f-head 4 cyl engine. since the picture ive gotten the shocks mounted, and started banging the fenders out somewhat. someone nearby is selling a hardtop with metal doors on craigslist. thinking i might invest in that next
