ACME hardtop ID

A while back I picked up an old ACME hardtop. Any idea what years it would fit? It doesn't fit my '64's windshield frame.





I checked the tech library and they say that all the windshield frames up to '75 have the same outside dimensions. Does this mean the top will only fit '76 and newer CJ5's? Would a '76 windshield fit on my '64 so I could use the hardtop?

You'll need the hinge assy from the 76+ w/s. Won't interchange w/your existing hinges. Also, there's one hole that doesn't line up, IIRC it's the lower one on the outside. Other than that it'll fit, you will have to punch a hole in your cowl under the wiper motor to run the wires for it. 76+ windshields use different hold downs inside, a tab with a knob vs. the latch style. You'll have to drill your dash to use them, but with a hardtop you really won't have to. You will if you ever take it off though. HTH
